A near fine condition copy of this first illustrated edition complete with dust jacket. The ten illustrations are mostly red, black and white colour. The original title of this story was The Escaped Cock when it was first published in 1929. It is a story included in Lawrence’s work of Sons and Lovers and other novels. Original marbled covers with bright gilt lettering on the spine. The brown dust jacket is in very good condition with darkened spine. The pages are uncut and in clean condition. 4to 64 printed pages
