The Old Man and the Sea inscribed by Ernest Hemingway

A first edition copy of Old Man and the Sea with inscription on the title page, “To Barbara with very best wishes from her friend Ernest Hemingway“. Complete with unclipped dust jacket. With Scribner’s “A” and publishers seal on the copyright page.

Original pale blue cloth boards with faded silver gilt lettering on the spine and minor marks on the boards. Ernest Hemingway imprinted signature on the boards. Lightly browned end papers/contents with some spotting within the contents. Light marks on a few pages and larger brown mark on page 20. The dust jacket has chipping on the spine ends and folds with small loss and minor tears. Wear to the fold ends. Darkened spine colour and browned rear panel. Stain on the front cover of the jacket. Marked jacket designed by “A”. 8vo 140 pp. Signature has been verified by forensic handwriting analyst.
