Christie, Agatha

Dame Agatha Christie, Lady Mallowan, DBE (15 September 1890 – 12 January 1976) was an English crime writer, short story author and playwright. Her name is known for the sixty six crime novels featuring the French detective, Hercule Poirot and the novels featuring the character, Miss Marple. Christie wrote several short stories collections and plays including the world’s longest-running murder mystery play, The Mousetrap. Agatha Christie is recognised as a leading writer and was made a Dame for her contribution to literature in 1971.
