Each book is individually collated and assessed, with any faults or condition issues clearly noted in the product description. All orders are securely packaged, fully insured, and shipped free of charge worldwide.
If a book proves unsatisfactory, it may be returned for a full refund of the original purchase price, provided we are notified within 14 days of receipt. All items are offered subject to prior sale.
Payment is accepted via PayPal and credit card. All books remain the property of Rare and Antique Books Ltd until payment has been received in full.

1. Contract
1.1
These Terms and Conditions govern all sales made by Rare and Antique Books and form the basis of the contract between us and you. Please read them carefully before placing an order. By ordering from us, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1.2
All descriptions, images, price lists, and marketing materials are provided for information only and do not constitute a contractual offer. Your order represents an offer to purchase, which we may accept at our discretion. A binding contract is formed once your order is accepted and confirmed in writing.
1.3
To minimise fraud, Rare and Antique Books reserves the right to request proof of identity for high-value transactions.
1.4
You may request changes to or cancellation of an order at any time prior to dispatch by contacting us in writing. Any payments made will be refunded within 14 business days.
We reserve the right to cancel an order prior to dispatch if:
The item is no longer available, or
An event beyond our reasonable control disrupts our ability to fulfil the order for more than 28 days
In such cases, you will be notified in writing and refunded within 14 business days.
2. Shipping
2.1
Delivery times may vary due to factors beyond our control. All items are fully insured and dispatched via tracked and signed delivery within the UK, or courier services for international orders, wherever possible.
Any applicable delivery information, charges, or estimated times will be provided before a contract of sale is confirmed.
2.2
Delivery is deemed complete once the books have been delivered to the address provided and physical possession has been taken by you or an authorised recipient. If an order is returned due to failed delivery, we will contact you to arrange redelivery.
2.3
Rare and Antique Books remains responsible for the books until delivery is complete. If you choose to use your own carrier, responsibility transfers to you and your chosen carrier upon collection.
2.4
Books are shipped free of charge worldwide. Local customs duties, taxes, or import fees may apply and are the responsibility of the buyer.
2.5
There are no additional UK taxes applicable. Printed books, magazines, and maps are zero-rated for VAT in the UK.
3. Returns and Refunds
3.1
We take great care to ensure all books match their descriptions and images. However, colour variations may occur due to differences in electronic displays.
If a book does not conform to its description, you are entitled to a full refund, provided you notify us within 14 days of receipt. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method.
3.2
Please contact us to notify us of any return and the reason for it within 14 days of delivery. Returned books must be sent back in the same condition as received.
If a book is not as described, return postage will be covered by Rare and Antique Books. For all other returns, postage costs are the responsibility of the customer and must include appropriate tracking and insurance. Refunds are processed promptly upon receipt of the returned item.
4. Events Outside Our Control (Force Majeure)
4.1
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to industrial action, power outages, internet failure, civil unrest, fire, flood, extreme weather, terrorism, war, epidemics, or natural disasters.
4.2
If such an event occurs, our obligations will be suspended, and we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible. If the disruption lasts longer than 30 days, the order will be cancelled and refunded in full.
5. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with English law. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England, Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland, depending on your place of residence.
