Rare early edition by Lewis Carroll in very good condition. This is the fifth thousand, so third printing, dated 1867, the year after the first printing. Overall in very good condition with professionally and finely re-laid spine. Requires close inspection to realize work has been carried out. Also retains original endpapers and again finely repaired gutters. Inscription to rear of front endpaper dated January 1st 1867. No other writing in the text block. Clean throughout other than for a few lightly spotted pages. Multiple iconic illustrations throughout by John Tenniel. Gilt to all three edges of text block.  Comes with tailor made storage box. 8vo 192pp.
