“Phantasmagoria” is a narrative discussion written in seven cantos between a ghost (a Phantom) and a man named Tibbets. Several of the poems are printed for the first time, Phantosmgoria, A Valentine, A Double Acrostic, The Valley of the Shadow of Death, Lines, Stanzas for Music and Christmas Greetings.
First State, without mention of Alice on the title page. Dark blue cloth boards with double gilt line border on the front and rear boards. Gilt illustrations on both boards. Gilt is rubbed and the spine darkened. Cloth is bumped on the board. White bleach spots on the front board. Brown end pages. Additional piece of paper sized 2 x 3″ attached to the half title page. Gilt page edges. The contents are mildly soiled in places. Bindings split on page 64, 80, and 128. 202 printed pages. 8vo.
