A first edition, first impression, first state with unclipped, professional renovated first state dust jacket, without the Sunday Times review. Comes with an inlaid card signed by Ian Fleming together with a letter of authentication from Chiswick Auction’s Head of Autographs and Memorabilia.
Clean and good condition original black cloth boards, with heart on the cover and red lettering to spine. Front and rear paste down with slight loss where the dust jacket was previously secured. Previous owner’s signature on the front free page. This Casino Royale was a previously library owned edition yet is in remarkable condition. London library stamp on the half title page and rear flap of DJ.
Dust jacket previously had a clear plastic cover which has been professionally removed resulting in a clean cover, slight fading to a few pink hearts and the lettering to the front flap and rear panel. Light stain on the spine touching the letter “A”. Very little wear to the corners, spine ends or edges. 8vo 218 pp.
