Fitzgerald, F. Scott

Francis Scott Fitzgerald (24/09/1896 –21/121940) was an American fiction writer who explored themes of the social changes following the First World War as well as personal aspects of his life. The writer of four novels Fitzgerald achieved critical acclaim with his later novels of The Beautiful and the Damned and The Great Gatsby which focused on the wealthy and dissolute young Americans. As well as novels he wrote 164 short stories for magazines like The Saturday Evening Post of which many became successful including Diamond as Big as the Ritz and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. His last novel, The Last Typhoon, written during his time as a scriptwriter in Hollywood, was incomplete and was published posthumously.
