The Stark Munro Letters contain a series of sixteen letters written by J. Stark Munro M.B. to his friend and former fellow student, Herbert Swanborough Of Lowell, Massachusetts during the years of 1881-1884. Conan Doyle was asked to edit them to record “some of the troubles which a young man may be called upon at the outset of his career”
Dark green cloth over heavy bevelled boards with gilt stamped lettering on the front boards and spine. The spine is lightly darkened. Black and white tissue guarded frontis illustration. Clean dark end papers. The contents are lightly foxed and staining of some pages. Hinges are weakening in places. Previous owner signature and embossed booksellers stamp on the half title page. 346 pp. 24 pages of advertisments. 8vo
