Old Possum’s Book of Cats first edition, first printing of this collection of whimsical poems about feline sociology and psychology. T S Eliot used the nickname “Old Possum” when writing to his god children and wrote these poems for them in the 1930’s. With a signature of  T. S Eliot pasted to the front free page.
The book is housed in a yellow buckram clam-shell box for protection. Without the dust wrapper. Bound in publishers yellow cloth with red illustration on the front and red lettering on the spine. The colours of the covers are faded and the spine is darkened. There are a few marks on the covers. Front and rear free pages are lightly foxed otherwise the book is very clean internally. The bindings are tight.  45pp. Octavo.
