One of only 2,500 copies of the first edition, first state of Howards End. With “A stepson of the soil” by Mary J. H. Skrine on p.348 with no mention of the second impression (which appeared in the second state.) With 4 pages of advertisments at the end an an 8pp catalogue tipped in (B. J. Kirkpatrick p29.) Dark boards with gilt lettering on the front and spine. Faded spine. Front hinge lightly weak. Clean contents and a very good condition. Split on hinge of  advertisments tipped in. 8vo
