Rare and Antique Books is pleased to offer free worldwide shipping.
UK deliveries are sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery.
International orders are shipped by courier with tracking included as standard.
Free shipping covers transportation costs only. Any import duties, taxes, or additional fees applied by your country are the responsibility of the recipient. Customs procedures may also cause delivery delays, which are beyond our control.
Since 1 January 2021, export rules from the UK to the EU have changed:
EU shipments may incur import VAT, typically collected by the courier or postal service.
UK books remain zero-rated for UK VAT, but EU countries generally apply VAT rates between 5% and 20%.
For Ireland, books are not subject to VAT, and orders under €150 (≈£130) should not attract customs duties. However, any incorrect VAT charges can and should be challenged by the recipient.
International customers should note that couriers may also charge administrative fees for collecting taxes on behalf of governments. We strongly recommend reviewing your country’s import rules and regulations before purchasing. Rare and Antique Books cannot be held responsible for taxes, duties, or fees applied outside the UK.
Returns and Refunds
We make every reasonable effort to ensure that our books match the illustrations, photographs, and descriptions on our website. However, slight variations may occur due to differences in electronic display colour reproduction.
If a book does not conform to its description, you are entitled to a full refund of the purchase price, calculated from the date of receipt. Refunds will be issued to the original PayPal or credit card account used for payment.
Return instructions:
Contact us within 14 days of receiving your order to notify us of any issues and the reason for return.
Return the book in the same condition as received.
If the book is not as described, Rare and Antique Books will cover the cost of return shipping.
For all other returns, postage costs are the responsibility of the customer and should include tracking and/or insurance.
Refunds will be processed promptly once we have received and inspected the returned book.
