A first edition of Pharos and Pharillon which 900 were printed by the Leonard and Virginia Woolf. Includes the first English translation of any poetry by C. P. Cavafy. A two page introduction precedes the five chapters previously published in The Nation and the Athenaeum plus nine further chapters and a conclusion never previously issued in England.
Original cloth backed paper covered boards with a paper strip spine. Toned and rubbed title label on the spine. The boards are worn with rubbing and wear to the corners and edges. Previous owner signature on the front free page dated Oct. 1919. The contents are foxed in places. 8vo. 80 pp plus one page of publishers catalogue.
