Buchan, John
John Buchan, (1875 – 1949) 1st Baron, Tweedsmuir. Buchan was a Scottish historian, biographer and editor. He became a published author whilst at university and wrote further novels, biographies, poetry, as well as numerous articles and stories for magazines and journals. During the war he wrote The Thirty-Nine Steps, the novel which was successfully adapted for film and television.
