A delightful first edition of this classic tale of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. With bright coloured illustrations throughout the text and in very good condition.

Light green cloth stamped in green and red with publisher’s name at spine in red, with the “Co” having the “o” enclosed in the “C”. Skillfully rebacked with the original spine relayed. Grubby covers with a little wear to the corners or edges. Spine is darkened. Pictorial end papers in good condition. 24 coloured plates including the title and illustrations throughout the text. The contents are very clean and illustrations bright. Bindings are very good. Advert on page [2] not included. Page 81, 4th line from bottom: “pieces” spelled correctly. Page 227: “While the woodman…“. Pages 100 and 186 both with broken type in last line. Verso of title with printed copyright. Plate facing p34 with no extraneous blue spotches in moon.
