The novel describes the experiences of growing up in the 1920s in a small market town in England. The novel is narrated by Oliver retelling three separate stories from his childhood, resolving them many years later. All three stories end with Oliver seeing the other main character for the last time.

Blue cloth board with bright gilt lettering on the spine. The spine is slightly darkened. Clean end papers and contents. Minor spotting to the top edge of the pages. Original dust jacket with very little sign of wear. Discolouring of a section over the spine and top back edge and otherwise in very clean state. 8vo. 217pp
