The White Company, author’s edition, limited edition and signed by A C Doyle
Conan Doyle’s desire was for a set of his own works and his favorite writings and he compiled a set of twelve volumes. The White Company is one of the set and production was limited to 1,000 copies. It is the only signed book in the set. Doyle was a reluctant signer of his book making this author’s edition a valuable find. Contains thirty eight stories and is illustrated with a titled tissue guarded frontpeice and black and white image on page 413.
Dark red cloth original covers with rubbed gilt lettering on the spine and upper cover. Grubby covers with browned spine. Wear to extremities and marks on the covers. Top edge gilt. The spine is split horizontally. Tears and chipping on the edges and lower part of the spine. The bindings are tight. Weak hinge on front free page. Frontis tissue guard is loose at top 7cm. Signed by the author listed 41/1000. Few marks within the text. 8vo 527 pp.
