A first edition of The Travels of Babar is in good condition. The second of the three charming Babar books published by the New York U.S. publishers, Harrison Smith & Robert Hass, before they were merged with the larger publisher, Random House.

Bright blue, board  hardback covers illustrated with Babar and Celeste in a balloon. Some wear to the edges and corners and light scratches on the rear board. With a cloth, red spine. The front and rear end papers are red with grey elephant illustrations. The rear end page has a large tear which has been partially repaired with sellotape. Clean throughout. Illustrations are all free from significant children’s scribbles or marks. Large format folio size. 48 pp.
