Bright blue, board  hardback covers illustrated with Babar and Celeste in a balloon. Some wear to the edges and corners and light scratches on the rear board. Edition has a half cloth, red spine. The front and rear end papers are red with grey elephant illustrations. the rear end page has a large tear which has been partially repaired with sellotape. Clean and tidy throughout all the pages. Illustrations thoughout the book are all free from significant children’s scribbles or marks. Large format folio size. 48 printed pages. This first edition of The Travels of Babar is in good condition.

Preface by A. A. Milne. The Travels of Babar is the second of the three charming Babar books published by the New York U.S. publishers, Harrison Smith & Robert Hass, before they were merged with the larger publisher, Random House.
