The Big Sur by Jack Kerouac
A very good copy of The Big Sur with an exceptionally clean dust jacket and rare to find. The UK first edition with a dust jacket designed by Signum. This famous novel was originally published by Farrer, Straus and Cudahy in the USA in 1962. Kerouac uses the name of his fictional alter-ego Jack Duluoz, in this fictionalized autobiographical series. It recounts the events concerning the main character, Duluoz,’s mental and physical deterioration.
Publisher’s blue hardback cloth binding in pictorial orange dust jacket. The boards are clean with gilt lettering on the spine. There are stains on the front free page and top edge of the pages which extends to several of the pages. The dust jacket is in very good condition and is unclipped. The colours are bright and clean. A few small chips on the edges of the spine. 8vo 241 pp
