Signed and limited edition of Essays New and Old by Aldous Huxley
A limited edition of this compilation of prose. There was no trade issue of this first edition. Huxley wrote many collections of essays and this edition is one of his earlier works. Huxley went on to become a significant English literary figure being nominated for The Nobel Prize for Literature for seven years.
Original blue, buckram backed marbled boards with gilt lettering on the spine. The spine is faded and rubbed. Corners are bumped and worn. The top of the pages are gilt. Other pages are uncut. Signed and marked 4th of a printing of 650 copies of which the last 50 are complimentary. The contents are lightly spotted. There is a signature on the front paste down. 8vo 257 printed pages.
