In Search Of A Character, Two African Journals, signed by Graham Greene

A signed first edition of In Search of Character complete with dust jacket in very good condition. Greene set two of his novels in Africa, A Burnt our Case in the Belgian Congo, and The Heart of the Matter in Sierra Leone. These two journals, one preceding A Burnt Out Case and the other The Heart of the Matter, not kept for publication, may be of interest as an indication of the kind of raw material a novelist stores.

Original cloth boards with red strip spine and gilt lettering on the spine. Lightly bumped corners and in very good condition. Illustrated end papers. Signed on the title page reading, “For Koos from Graham Greene”. The contents are clean. The dust jacket is unclipped. Faded spine colour with a few stains on the front. Tiny hole on the front cover and on the spine. Lightly rubbed. 8vo. 123pp.
