Puck Of Pook’s Hill collection of fantasy short stories set in different periods of English history. The tales are told to two small children by a character called Puck, a character from William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night Dream. Includes a bookplate of C. R. L. Fletcher who worked on several projects with Kipling, such as Kipling’s A River’s Tale introduction to Fletcher’s 1911 edition of  A History of England. The book contains twenty black and white illustrations.

Original red cloth boards with gilt lettering on the spine and a circular gilt elephant head illustration on the front board. The spine is faded and a faded section on the rear board. Spine ends and edges are worn. Top edge of the book is gilt. Slight cocking. Bookplate on the front paste down. Spotted front and back end pages. The contents are clean and lightly browned. The hinges are tight. 306 pages plus 4 pages of advertisements. 8vo
