The Parasite by Arthur Conan Doyle and The Watter’s Mou by Bram Stoker
The publishing house of Archibald Constable & Co. launched a series of novellas by reputable authors under the name of The Acme Library in 1984. The publication of the novellas was ill fated and production run was short making these editions scarce. Both novellas offer a different side to the author’s usual writings. The Parasite relays a paranormal tale. The Watter’s Mou portrays a romantic tale set along the Scottish coast
The Parasite: Original blue cloth boards with bright gilt lettering and illustration. Boards worn on the darkened spine. Corners lightly bumped. Internally clean and bindings tight. A related newspaper article attached to front paste down marking the page. Pencil signature on half title page. Gilt on top edges and uncut for the other edges.
The Watter’s Mou: Hardback bound in slightly marked blue cloth with bright gilt decorations to front board, spine and upper page edges. Wear to edges, corners and spine with missing top edge of spine. Tear on front free page. Faded owners signature to front paste down. Clean and crisp age toned pages with foxing on last end pages.
