The novel is best known for its idea that the Samurai, a group of nobility, could effectively rule a world. This would redress the sociological issue of progress and political stability. This edition is in a very presentable condition.
Original red cloth boards with gilt lettering on the cover and spine. The spine is faded and the lettering is rubbed. Spine ends are bumped and worn. Front free page is loose and chipped. There is a small book sellers stamp on the front paste down. The half title page is browned and there is foxing on the title page. Foxing on the edges of the book pages and a smattering throughout the book. 8vo 393 printed pages.
