George Orwell: The Road To Wigan Pier
George Orwell published this classic book with Victor Gollancz as a Left Book Club and later with a cloth trade edition. The Left Book Club exerted a strong far-left influence in Great Britain from 1936 to 1948. This edition contains a fourteen page introduction by the publisher, Gollancz himself, which was not included in later printings. This edition does not have the newsletter that accompanies the book.
Limp orange cloth covers with black lettering. The covers are slightly soiled. The spine ends are frayed. 32 pages of black and white photographs. Foxing on the page edges and marks within the book. The book comes in a slip case. 8vo 264 printed pages.
