For Your Eyes Only is a collection of  five short stories with the main character of the 007 secret service agent, James Bond. Ian Fleming’s previous publications had all been complete novels and this collection marks a change in his writing format. The stories contained were primarily adaptions for television programmes which were never made, “From View To A Kill”, “For Your Eyes Only”, Quantum of Solace” and “Risico“, although of course feature films were made for the first three titles. The final story in the collection, “The Hildbrand Rarity” was a book that Fleming had drafted earlier in his career but he had never published before.
