A tidy edition of this collection of stories by Arthur Conan Doyle. First edition, second impression printed same year as first impression – 1929 and relatively rare with a dust jacket in such good condition. The book is a companion to “The Complete Sherlock Holmes Short Stories” published around the same time. This volume contains short stories other than those relating to the great detective, Sherlock Holmes, and is the first time they were published together. The stories included are “The Ring and the Camp”, “Pirates and Blue Water“, “Terror and Mystery“, “Twilight and the Unseen“, “Adventure and Medical Life” and “Tales of Long Ago“. The book has an unclipped dust jacket and is in good to very good condition.
Original red cloth boards with gilt lettering on the cover and spine with gilt crest relating to the bookplate on front pastedown. The covers are very clean and minimal signs of wear. The contents are good to v good condition only lightly browned. Lightly browned end pages. The title page hinge is a little frail and the book holds together very well. The dust jacket is lightly browned with a little wear to the edges. No significant tears. Repairs internally with stickers. 8vo 1202 printed pages.
