De Profundis, Lettres ecrites de la Prison by Oscar Wilde
De Profundis as written whilst Wilde was in prison in 1897 and was first published in 1905. It is a long letter which recounts his spiritual journey through his trails and spell in prison. Upon Wilde’s release he immediately moved to live in France and this copy was published in France and written in French. Translated by Henry-D. Davray. This copy is in very good condition and has been rebound.
Rebound dark cloth boards with gilt illustration on the cover and lettering on the spine. Yellow title page and second original title page present. Fading of the panels of the cover and slight wear on the spine ends. Uncut page ends some of which are uncut on the top edge. The pages are browned. 8vo 272 printed pages.
