A good copy of this hardback historical and romantic novel, The Black Arrow. R. L. Stevenson initially wrote the story under a pseudonym, Captain George North and it was serialized in 1883 in Young Folks; A Boy’s and Girls paper of Instructive and Entertaining Literature.
Original red cloth boards with black lettering and illustration on the covers. The spine is lightened with wear to both of the spine ends. The edition is cocked. Light wear to the corners. The covers are a little grubby. The bindings are good and the book holds together very well. Illustrated end papers with a signature on front paste down. W. H. Smith stamp imprint on the top of the first two pages of the book. Smattering of foxing on the title page and generally within the first pages of the book. 8vo 324 printed pages with 20 pages of advertisments at the end.
