This Babar the King book is one of only three of the first Babar stories Smith & Hass, the New York U.S. publishers, produced before it was merged with the Random House Publishers. It is a scarce find of this charming elephant story. This first edition Babar the King is in fair/good condition.

Hardback yellow  cover with bright illustrations of Babar the elephant with worn and chipped edges and corners of the cover. Clear film protector. Binding split in several places within the book. Small tears on a few pages and sellotape repairs on pages 7. 8, 11 and 25/6. Pages browned according to it’s age but clean with no children’s scribbles or inscriptions. Large format folio size.
