Thunderball is the ninth book in Ian Fleming’s James Bond series, and the first novel of the Biofeld Trilogy. It achieved great success on publication and the initial print run of 50,938 copies quickly sold out.

Black/brown cloth boards with skeletal hand embossed on the front cover. Gilt lettering on the spine. Bumped mark on the top edge of the rear cover. The boards of the book are very clean and corners v good. Very minor bumping on spine ends. Cream end pages have two previous owner’s signatures dated 1961. Clean pages. Marked first published 1961. Nine previous Ian Fleming publications listed prior to the title page. Dedicated to Ernest Cuneo. Bindings tight. 254 pp. 8vo.

Dust jacket with a knife on playing cards plus skeleton hand on the front cover.  Colours of the cover are bright and clear. Unclipped 15s net. Small chips on the spine edges and 1″ creasing marks on the bottom corner. Corners chipped. A few tiny tears on the top edge. Spine is lightly darkened. Front flap has book description plus information about the author continued on the rear flap. Photograph of Ian Fleming on the rear cover. Jacket design by Richard Chopping marked on the rear flap.
