The classic “coming of age” adventure novel of buccaneers and pirates. Between 1881 through 1882 Treasure Island, or the mutiny of the Hispaniola, script was serialized in the children’s magazine, Young Folks. It was first published as a book on 14 November 1883. This third edition novel is in fair/good condition.
Original blue cloth bindings with gilt lettering on the spine. Unfortunate blue stains across the cover. The spine is worn, rubbed and the covers are light marked. Very clean black end papers. Frontispiece map with red colouring remains bright. The slightly browned contents have foxing throughout the text. 8vo. 292 printed pages plus “Selections from Volumes Published by Cassell & Co, Limited”.
