Plain dark blue hard boards with gilt lettering on the spine. Very good condition of the corners and edges of the book. Contents of the book are clean and free from foxing or marks. End pages mottled with mild splitting of the hinge. Otherwise the binding of the book is in good condition. Tissue guarded full page frontpiece illustration. Eleven further full page black and white illustrations included. 427 printed pages with 12 pages of advertisements of other Cassell publications by Stevenson. 8vo. This first edition of The Wrecker is in very good condition.

Stevenson described The Wrecker as a “South Sea Yarn”. The novel¬†comprises loosely connected¬†chapters or stories written by Stevenson and Osbourne which are finally linked in the last chapter.
