The Diamond Smugglers is a non-fiction work based on two weeks of interviews with John Collard who was a member of the International Diamond Security Organisation (IDSO). The initial interviews were published in The Sunday Times in 1957 and Fleming developed them for this book publication. The IDSO was established by the ex-chief of MI5, Sir Percy Sillitoe, to fight against the prolific smuggling of diamonds from Africa. The Diamond Smugglers is a valuable addition to an Ian Fleming collection of books.
