Goldfinger First Edition:
Goldfinger is the seventh novel in Ian Fleming’s 007, James Bond series, first published on 23 March 1959. Ian Fleming originally gave the book the title of The Richest Man in the World and was written in January and February 1958.
Original black cloth boards with no signs of wear on the edges or spine. Bright gilt “coin” illustration of the eyes of an embossed skull on the front cover. Bright gilt lettering on the spine of the book. Copyright page states only “First Published 1959″. White end papers clean and in good condition. 318 printed pages. 8 x 5 ”
Dust jacket has skull with red rose on the front with good colours and wood grain is clear. Small chips on the corners and rubbing. Spine is darkened slightly with chips on the spine edges and loss of a portion of the lower edge. Rear of the jacket has five other novels written by Ian Fleming. Slight browning of the rear of the dust jacket. Front flap of the cover has a description of Goldfinger and review of Ian Fleming’s book, Dr No. Jacket design by Richard Chopping. 15s net marked on the front flap. Rear of the flap has reviews of The Diamond Smugglers.
