A very presentable copy of this highly collectable children’s series. An enchanting book.

Babar the King First Edition by Jean De Brunhoff:

Yellow hard boards with a Babar the King riding on a horse illustration and black cloth spine. Corners and edges are a little worn and a small tear on the spine. Binding torn on front end page and slightly loose on first pages but otherwise binding holds well. Pages clean and tidy. Large Folio size 122″ x 152″. This first edition Babar the King is in very good condition.

The third book written by Jean de Brunhoff about this charming elephant, Babar. The stories were originally devised as bedtime tales for his children and Jean de Brunhoff was only able to complete six books before his untimely death at the age of 37. His brother, Michel, and his son, Laurent continued the work that Jean de Brunhoff had started and the books have proved to be a international success. They continue to be highly collectable and would make a charming gift for adults or children.
